5. Le Gourmet Brasserie

Almost every day, we ate breakfast at Le Gourmet Brasserie on Praed Street near Paddington Station. They offered many traditional English breakfast items, but they also specialized in Middle Eastern food. A young woman and a middle-aged man worked behind the counter, and by the time we left, they knew our faces and our order: salmon and eggs with brown toast, with a diet Coke for my husband and water for me. The food was delicious, quick, and cheap, and service was friendly.
